Most people who get furniture cleaning are looking for cleaning because their furniture has been through some…stuff. Maybe a spill or spot has left your furniture looking worse for wear. Perhaps an animal (or person) had an accident that you want gone. Or maybe years of love has left it looking drab and dirty. You chose your furniture with care. You can trust the experts at Alberta Carpet Cleaning to take care in cleaning it.
Here are a couple of the things that people frequently ask us at Alberta Carpet Cleaning when they’re thinking about furniture cleaning:
There are a couple of things we have to watch out for when it comes to cleaning furniture:
We often hear from people who are only looking to clean one cushion or area on their sofa or chair due to a spill or accident. We do not advise this because it may cause the clean spot or cushion to stand out from the rest of the furniture once it dries after cleaning.
If you have general odour concerns, we recommend you talk to your technician about adding Spring Breeze Deodorizer™. It smells as great as it sounds, trust us. Spring Breeze Deodorizer™ is a professional grade odour counteractant that is applied along with the cleaning solution prior to the actual cleaning.
For odours resulting from urine or vomit, we recommend BioTreat™ which is an enzyme based treatment that will work to digest any organic material that may linger and cause an odour even after cleaning.
Pricing is based on the size of the furniture and what parts are upholstered. We can provide general per piece pricing for standard furniture sizes in your quote.
The more information you can provide about the size of your furniture, the better! Oversized furniture and sectionals can be tricky to price without seeing them in person. We will do our best to estimate the price when booking your appointment, and your technician will provide a final price before cleaning begins.
For kitchen or dining room chairs – please let us know what parts of the chair are upholstered (seat only, seat + back, or seat + back + arms). For armchairs, loveseats & sofas, please provide an estimation of whether they are “standard size” or over-sized (a standard 3 seat sofa is about 7 feet or 2.1 metres long).
For sectionals, please provide an estimate of the length of the back on both sides, as well as an estimate of the number of adults the couch was made to seat.
We have several products to address odour concerns but our upholstery cleaning is surface clean of the fabric covering your couch or chair – we cannot “deep clean” the foam or stuffing of your furniture without risking mildew or further damage to the foam. If a spill or accident has thoroughly soaked in and damaged the foam, you may want to consider having the foam replaced by a furniture re-upholsterer in addition to cleaning the fabric on the outside.
